On Friday, July 24, the New Martinsville Electric Department was presented a large decorated cake in appreciation of their service to the citizens of the community. Earl and Marsha Smith met with the group at the electric building office to make the presentation.

"We have so many great employees in New Martinsville and this group of electric workers stand out as some of the best around. We are fortunate to have such dedicated people who are well trained and willing to go out of their way to help the citizens," said local resident Earl Smith.

Smith and his wife Marsha have been long time residents of New Martinsville and they have shown their appreciation to several different departments within the city in the past several weeks.

Many times it's the little things like this that brings out the best in people, and the Smiths want to make sure all of New Martinsville employees know they are appreciated.

"We feel it's a small token of appreciation for what they accomplish day-in-and-day-out. We congradulate them for their hard work, and thank them for their service," added the Smiths.
