NM Rotary Recognizes Students of the Month

Rotary Students of the month for March, 2020, are Magnolia high school students Ashley Kelly and Paige Brill. Both were in attendance and recognized at the Rotary's regular meeting at the on Wednesday March 4.

Rotarian Dan Mason introduced the students at the meeting and both girls were appaulded for their achivement.

Ashley Kelly is the daughter of Roger and Emma Kelly of New Martinsville. She is a 4.04 student at Magnolia high school where she is a member of the national honor society, science national honor society, Mu Alpha Theta, FBLA, drug free club, and the travel club.

As a volunteer she belongs to scources of strength, and peer tutoring. She participated in cheerleading, softball, volleyball, OVAC All-Academic team, softball sectional champions, and softball OVAC runner-up.

Her community activities include Kids kollage, relay for life, Sunday soccer, Pisa testing, prom committee, NMS haunted house, animal shelter volunteer, Salvation Army bell ringer, and Blood donor.

She plans to attend West Virginia University and major in Nursing. She has qualified for the promise scholarship.

Paige Brill is the daughter of Ronald and Pamela Brill of New Martinsville. She is a 4.04 student at Magnoia high school where she is class treasurer. She belongs to the national honor society, science national honor society, Mu Alpha Theta, and cause for paws.

She vounteers in sources of strength, prom committee, and is on student council. Paige participates in the following Magnolia high school cheer team, and was a member of the 2017 OVAC cheer champions, She is a member of the high school softball team, 2017 sectional champions, 2017 All-State honorable mention team, 2018 All-State special honorable mention team, 2019 All-State honorable mention tea, and 2019 OVAC Class 3-A first team.

Her community activities include serving at St. Vincent De Paul. She enjoys cheerleading and spending time with her family friends and dog Pedro.

Paige plans to attend West Virginia University and major in Nursing. She has received for the promise scholarship and ACT prep scholarship . She is eligible for the scholarship of distinctionlevel 3.
