Long Time Educator Takes Her Place Among Wetzel County’s Best

Last Saturday night, the Wetzel County Museum hosted the induction of Lucille Blum into the county's Hall of Fame. The evening ceremony was well attended with over sixty guests.

The evening's speakers told stories of her many years of service to the community as both an educator and public official. Some speakers told of her love for teaching.

Others recounted her tireless work with students to encourage them in pursuit of a better education. The evening's speakers included students along with fellow educators. It was evident by their words, Lucille was dedicated to guiding her many students towards a better future.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the portrait of Lucille was unveiled to the gathering. The painting is the work of local artist, Earl Yost. The portrait will take its place alongside others who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The museum was filled with laughter and smiles as highlights of her life were recounted. Lucille Blum's induction into the Hall of Fame kicks off 2020 with a high standard of excellence for the county.
