Hundred Falls To Notre Dame In Straight Sets

Rachel Snedden filled the stat sheet with 12-points, including 3-aces, 9-digs and 1-block, but it wasn't quite enough to get Notre Dame in straights sets (12-25, 15-25 and 11-25) Oct. 22 at NDHS Gymnasium.

Jana Huggins also filled the stat sheet with 6-points, with 2-aces, 9-digs, 1-block, 1-assist and 1-kill, while Kayla Matthews and Casey Henderson each scored 4-points, Matthews added 11-digs, 1-kill and 1-block, while Henderson collected 4-digs and 1-kill.

In addition, Kayley Davis and Aubrie Hawkins each recorded 3-points, with Davis providing 10-digs, 2-assists and 1-kill, and Hawkins 2-digs and 1-assist. Leah Delaney collected a team-high 15-digs, while scoring 2-points and 1-block. Off the bench, Adalyn Conaway tallied 2-points, while Sara Keller bumped-up 2-digs, and Kayla Aracich blocked 1-Irish shot.

Hundred Hornets vs Wood County Christian

It was a long night for the Hundred Lady Hornets as they lost a pair of matches to Wood County Christian and and St. Marys Oct. 14 in a tri-match inside Blue Devil Gymnasium.

The Hornets had a tough time against Wood County, falling in straight sets by the same score of 9-25. Kayla Mathews, Kayley Davis, Kayla Aracich and Jana Huggins each scored a team-high 3-points, with only Matthews picking up an ace. She also added 6-digs and 1-block, while Davis filled the stat sheet with 7-digs, 2-blocks, 1-assist and 1-kill. Huggins also added 5-digs and 1-block, while Aracich added 2-digs and dished out an assist.

In addition, both Rachel Snedden and Aubrie Hawkins each scored 2-points, with Snewdden adding 10-digs and 1-assist. Leah Delaney, Casey Henderson and Sara Keller all three scoring 2-points, with Delaney providing 9-digs, Keller 2-digs and 1-kill, and Henderson 1-dig.

Against their hosts St. Marys, the Lady Hornets did a little bett, but lost set 1, 11-25 and the second set 15-25 with both Henderson and Delaney each scoring 6-point, with Delaney scoring a pair of aces and Henderson 1-ace. Henderson also had a team-high 13-digs, while Delaney bumped-up 6-digs and buried a kill. Aracich and Matthews each scored 3-points, with Matthews collecting 5-digs and 2-blocks, while Aracich rejecting a shot at the net.

Aubrie and Allison Hawkins as well as Adalyn Conaway each tallied 2-points, with Conaway served up an ace and a dig. Davis, Snedden and Huggins each scoring a service point, with Snedden and Huggins each getting an ace. Snedden also collected 8-digs, while Huggins contributed a pair of digs and a block, and Davis 5-digs and dished out an assist.

The Hundred Hornets volleyball team gave it the old-college try, but was turned away Oct. 10 a inside the Hornets Nest against Morgantown Christian in straight sets.

In the first set, the Lady Hornets took Morgantown in overtime, but came away empty-handed losing 26-28. The Hornets were in the second set as well, but fell, 19-25, before bowing 12-25 in the final set.

Racel Snedden had her best match of the season, scored 17-points with 1-ace and 19-digs, she also added 1-assist and 1-kill to lead the way for the Lady Hornets. Casey Henderson also had one of her better matches too. She scored 11-service points with 1-ace, 12-digs and 1-kill, while Janna Huggins and Kayla Matthews each tallied 9-points, with Huggins adding 1-ace, 9-digs, 4-assists and 3-kills, while Matthews posted 7-digs, 5-kills abd had 2-service aces.

In addition, Leah Delaney pitched in with 6-points with 1-ace, 7-blocks, 5-digs, 3-kills and dished out an assist, while Madison Fetty recorded 5-points, 20-digs, 9-assists and 1-kill. Kayley Davis put together 5-digs and 1-kill, while Aubrie Hawkins came off the bench to provide 1-block and 1-dig.

"I'm so proud of these girls, they never quit and they play hard every play, while leaving everything on the court," saif Head Coach Terry Rider.

In their match with St John inside Bellaire High School Gymnasium on Oct 8, the Lady Hornets got better each match, but couldn't pull the trigger, losing in straight sets, 12-25, 17-25 and 19-25.

Snedden and Henderson was once more the top scorers for Hundred with Snedden scoring 10-points with 1-ace, while Henderson tacked on 9-points with 2-aces. Snedden added 9-digs, 3-blocks and 1-kill, while Henderson tacked on 10-digs. Matthews picked up her game provided 8-points, 2-aces, 9-digs, 5-blocks, 1-assist and 1-kill, while Fetty supplied 7-points, 12-digs and 2-assists. Delaney also tallied 7-points, with 2-aces, 3-blocks, 2-digs and 1-kill, while Davis posted 5-points, 11-digs and blocked 1-Bellaire shot.
