West Liberty University Steel Drum Band and African Drum/Dance Ensemble to Preform

The free concert will begin at 6:00 pm near the town gazebo, located at the corner of Main and Broad streets. Food will be available for purchase, provided by the Tyler County Girl Scouts Troop #10034. ArtsLink's Summer Coffeehouse series is sponsored by First Mutual Bank.

The West Liberty Steel Band, one of the first such bands in the country, plays all kinds of tradition, popular and classical tunes from the U.S.A., Trinidad and Tobago and beyond. Many of their tunes have been arranged by the students.

The West Liberty Steel Band consists of 16 performers playing 28 pans, ranging from the lead pan, which is a single pan that plays mostly the melody on its 25 small notes, to the 7-bass, which plays the bass line on seven bass pans, each of which containing 2 or 3 large notes.
