West Virginia Governor Jim Justice was in Pine Grove, WVa., on Thursday for a special presentation to the community of funds to complete the final stage of their sewer system upgrade. Pine Grove Mayor Richard Price, other community leaders, and state and local officials were on hand for the presentation state held at the Byrd Center. Governor Justice commented he has driven across more of the roads and can see where there's more and more work that has to be done. He stated that he "surely understands the concerns".

However, he noted today was a special day for the community of pine grove as he was there to present Mayor Richard Price with the funds through a grant in the amount of $1,030.044 for completion of the phase two sanitary sewer improvement project. The total project involves 7,800 linear feet of wastewater mains, and includes three upgrade duplex pump systems.

The grant will help hundreds of homes, several businesses, the high school and the Robert C. Byrd Center. Justice said that most of the grants he is presenting are for improvements to waste water, sanitation or water itself. He said, "until you don't have water or the proper sanitation, you couldn't even begin to realize what people go through".
