Way to Go, FFA

March 13, 2019
Wetzel Chronicle

We know we mentioned it last week, but we will repeat it this week: We have amazing FFA chapters in our county! Check out the results of the annual Wetzel County Ham, Bacon, and Egg Sale, located on this week's front page. We appreciate the many individuals, companies, and organizations that attended the event and invested in our youth - whether it be monetary or through a supportive presence.

After participating in Friday's show, several of these kids then had to quickly prepare for the state-level show and sale. We will have more on their successes in a future edition; however, we learned that Valley High School's George Brown exhibited the Grand Champion Bacon! Meanwhile, Magnolia High School's Ashley Phillips received fifth place for bacon. Brown received fifth place for ham, and Valley's Shannon Brown received sixth place for ham.

Magnolia's Josh Arrick received seventh place for ham, while Hundred's Katherine Henderson received third place for her dozen eggs!

We hope to have more on all of these successes in a future edition, but in the meantime, we offer a sincere "Congratulations" to these FFA members, and all of Wetzel County's FFA youth.
