Ryan Baker and Jerry Evatt scored 14 and 12 points. Baker's 14 included two 3-pointers, while Evatt made three 3-pointers.

Lumberjacks' Late Game Heroics Fall Short, Lose 58-45

The Beallsville Blue Devils outscored the Valley Lumberjacks, 25-5, in the second period and held off a gallant Valley fourth-period comeback to win, 58-45, in boys high school basketball action on Jan. 28 in Beallsville territory.

After falling behind, 32-9, the Lumberjacks would challenge their hosts in the second half, but a 24-point fourth-quarter effort was enough.

Avery Kinkade led the Lumberjacks with 15 points, including a pair 3-pointers.

Ryan Baker tallied 11 points, while Levi Anderson netted nine points. Abe Satterfield followed with four points.

In addition, Tommy Shannon, Gavin Streets and Jerry Evatt each sank a basket for all the Valley Lumberjack scoring.

Wyatt Brown and Dukota Phillips evenly divided 30 points, while Spencer Baker tallied 10 points for all the Beallsville double-digit scoring.
