The Season Of Giving

November 28, 2018
Wetzel Chronicle

As we make preparations for our Wednesday, Nov. 28 edition, we are mindful that today - Nov. 27 - is known as "Giving Tuesday." This special day is celebrated after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday It is known to kick off a season of charity.

Opportunities to give are all around us; we've featured some in our paper over the past couple of weeks - Shoe Sensation has started its annual "Socks for the Troops" campaign. The Esther Crumbley Fund has been seeking donations to prepare meal packages for needy families. New Martinsville's Genesis Healthcare Center is collecting new and gently used coats for those in need. The Stocking of Cheer organization is working to gather donations for gifts for local youth.

These are just a few examples. The opportunities to give are plenty. We encourage everyone to take the opportunity to do such, in some way. No donation is too small.

Together, we can make a difference this Christmas, and in the future.
