The Paden City Wildcats made it a clean sweep as they added back-to-back Mason-Dixon Conference titles Oct. 27 at Morgantown Trinity High School.

The Wildcats had to wait to add another championship to their long list of awards they have received this year, as Morgantown Trinity and Notre Dame had to go head-to-head to see which one would take on the girls from Paden City if they got by Clay-Battelle.

It didn't take very long to find out who they would play as Trinity disposed of Notre Dame in two sets, as well as the Lady Wildcats beating the Cee-Bees, 25-15 and 25-12, in their two set victories.

In the match with Clay-Battelle, Cora Anderson scored nine points, 13 digs and had a kill to lead the way, while Maggi Still and Abbe Stackpole each tallied six service points, with Still dishing out eight assists and bumping up three digs, and Stackpole adding four digs and three kills.

In addition, Hope Weber provided nine kills, seven digs, six blocks and scored five points, that included an ace for the game-winner in the first set, and a kill to close out the second set. Mallory Yeater served up three points with one ace, dished out seven assists, drilled four kills, and bumped up nine digs. Madi Kline and Brandis Dalrymple each had a dig and a block, with Kline also adding a kill for all the Wildcats statistics.

After splitting with Trinity in the regular season, Paden City won in straight sets in the OVAC Class-A title match to set the stage for the Mason-Dixon championship.

The opening set went back and forth with Paden City looking up to Trinity at 18-22, but clawing back to within 23-24 with Yeater serving; however, Trinity broke serve and won the first set, 25-23.

The second set looked like a carbon copy of the first set, but in this set, the Wildcats were on top, 24-20, with Trinity serving, and served up a fault with Paden City winning 25-20.

In the tie-breaker, the Wildcats and the Lady Warriors were all tied up at 6-6 and would take their biggest lead at 20-11 and held on to win the third and deciding set, 25-18.

Mallory Yeater led the way with 10 service points with one ace, nine kills, 14 assists and 16 digs, while Hope Weber tallied four points with one ace, 15 kills, three blocks, two assists and four digs. Maggi Still dished out 13 assists, four digs, three blocks and pounded two kills.

In addition, Abbe Stackpole scored seven service points with two aces, eight digs, three kills and one assist, while Cora Anderson provided seven points with two aces, 13 digs and one kill. Madi Kline scored half of her four points via service aces, added five kills and bumped up three digs, while Brandis Dalrymple compiled three kills, two assists and one dig for all the Paden City statistics.

The Wildcats ended their season 23-8, and winning both the OVAC Class-A and the Mason-Dixon Conferences in back-to-back seasons, will head into the sectionals at Tyler Consolidated against St Marys.
