The Tygarts Valley Bulldogs scored 20 points in both the first and second quarters and went on to defeat Hundred, 60-26, Oct. 19 at Tygarts Valley High School.

Martin Baker gave Zedell a short break, ran once for 35 yard, and caught two passes for 36 yards and a touchdown. Skylar Goff hauled in one pass for five yards, while Brandon Rine caught four passes for 60 yards and a touchdown.

In addition Jacob Kuhn caught his first-ever touchdown pass from Zedell from 17-yards out.

The Hundred Hornets will end the season at home Friday, Nov. 2 when they host Montcalm on Cosgray Field with kick-off scheduled at 7 p.m.

Hornets On The Short Side Of 54-30 Score

The Hancock Panthers scored on their first four possessions and held off a hungry bunch of Hornets to win a 54-30 slugfest Oct.12 in Maryland.

In 31 plays from scrimmage the Hancock Panthers scored four times to go up 26-0 before Hundred tallied its first touchdown to end the first half on a four-play, 70-yard drive with a nifty 45-yard Andrew Zedell to Martin Baker touchdown reception. A two point try was good and added to the tally before both teams headed to the locker room for the break.

The Hornets were warned by their coaches that Hancock was going to try to catch the Hornets sleeping and kick a short one, and they did. Then, before everybody got back to their seats, Hancock was up, 34-8.

However, the Hornets sent out their dangerous kick-returner Zedell, who has already scored three times on kick-off returns this season. He returned the ensuing kick 90 yards for Hundred's second touchdown. Zedell ran in the two-point conversion to make the score, 34-16.

But, once again, the Panthers answered with a seven-play, 58-yard drive with a 23-yard touchdown run.

Zedell almost broke another kick back for a touchdown but was tripped up for a 48-yard return. Hundred got as close as the two-yard line before Hancock held the Hornets on downs.

From there, Hancock traveled the distance on only six plays that capped off with a 14-yard touchdown. The Hornets weren't about to let their surplus of Hundred fans, who made the journey to Hancock, down. The Hornets scored on a four-play drive that resulted in another Zedell to Baker touchdown pass to make the score, 46-22.

Hundred was also successful on its shot kick and recovered the ball. But this time the Hornets were picked off, and the hosts would make it count, scoring their final touchdown on a 23-yard run. With the two-point conversion run, the hosts were up, 54-22.

Once again the Hornets fought back and put together another touchdown drive. This time, like two others, Zedell hooked up with Baker for the third time for a 19-yard catch and run for a touchdown. Zedell ran in the two-point run for the final 54-30 score.

Zedell passed for 169 passing yards on nine receptions with Baker having his best game of his young career with three of his four catches going for touchdowns and 133 yards.

Defensively, Charles Rine had 13 tackles, while David Gray adding 10 tackles, that included a quarterback sack. Skylar Goff also had a nice defensive game himself, hauling down nine, while Zedell added eight tackles and swatted away a pass.

In addition, Baker lassoed six and batted down three passes, while Brendon Tedrow made five tackles.

For the game, Zedell rushed for 36 yards, passed for 169 yards, and had 155 yards on kickoffs with one going for 90 yards and a score for 387-all purpose yards.

The Hundred Hornets season is almost in the history books.
