Yeager’s Memory Lives On

August 22, 2018
Wetzel Chronicle

We were deeply saddened last week to hear of the passing of Robyn Yeager. Yeager had an impact on many of us at the Wetzel-Tyler newspapers. Frankly, she made an impact on many.

Yeager was a prominent piece of the Wetzel County Farm Bureau and was a large part of the bureau's "Meet the Candidates" forum. She also shared her expertise through an appearance on the "Best of America By Horseback" television special.

Perhaps most of all, Yeager genuinely loved people. She showed her immeasurable love and appreciation for her country and its veterans by bestowing countless handcrafted walking sticks. She also organized a Veterans Day program in the Pine Grove community.

Yeager spread such cheer at Christmastime. She helped organize the "Christmas In Our Town" event for the Pine Grove area, and she was always spotted making a Christmastime voyage with her beloved horse Zigger, handing out bags of candy and, most importantly, spreading smiles and joy.

Yeager had noted the following, of her Christmas ride, to us last year: "So many people have heartaches, and this time of year is tough for those missing loved ones. I might not be able to take away all their pain and emptiness, but if for just a few minutes or hours, I can give them some happiness and maybe a great memory of time past on, I hope I can."

Yeager passed away too soon, but it is safe to say the happiness and memories she gave us all will endure.
