Hall, Yost Lead Class Of 2018

Peyton Hall and Kristen Yost served as valedictorian and salutatorian for River High School's Class of 2018, and Hanna Blake served as the school's vocational valedictorian.

Peyton Joseph Hall, valedictorian at River High School for the Class of 2018, is the son of Dana and Becky Hall, of Sardis. Peyton graduated with a 4.75 GPA participating in the dual enrollment program and will graduate with 50 college credit plus hours. Peyton is a four-year Kiwanis Scholar, member of the River High School National Honor Society, Buckeye Boys State participant, Regional Scholar, Ohio Legislative Summit Speaker Pro Tempore, and HOBY Youth Leadership participant. Peyton recently was recognized as one of the top 84 seniors in the state as Franklin B. Walter Scholars. Peyton also won the Ohio Americanism Test and traveled to Washington, D.C., along with 17 others in the state of Ohio. He was a Scripps National Spelling Bee participant. Peyton is a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church. Peyton plans to attend The Ohio State University and double major in chemical engineering and biology and minor in history.

Kristen Breanne Yost is the salutatorian of the River High School Class of 2018 and will graduate with an honors diploma. She is the 18-year-old daughter of Greg and Bobbi Yost of Hannibal. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Art Club, and the Duffy Church of Christ Youth Group. She has participated in volleyball, the Marietta Times Calendar Contest, and was a student exhibitor for the Monroe County Arts Council as well as the Stifel Fine Arts Center. Her volunteer work includes preparing and delivering food baskets for the elderly and shut-ins, provide Christmas presents to underprivileged children, volunteer for the Red Cross and Community Food Drive. She has received awards for principal's list, student of the month, academic achiever, and top of the class for various subjects. She plans to attend Freed-Hardeman University and major in elementary education and minor in art.

Hanna Blake is the daughter of Robert and Stephanie Hayes. She studied Medical Technologies at Swiss Hills Career Center. Hanna plans to attend Belmont College in the fall, to study Nursing.
