Isaly Heads To Marietta For Basketball

River Pilots multi-sports standout Lukas Isaly has decided to further his academic and athletic career at Marietta College where he will play basketball for the Pioneers. Academically, Isaly hopes to enroll in a Physician Assistant Grad School after his undergraduate graduation.

Isaly is the all-time career scoring leader at River High School with 2,172 points, and finished with 535 assists as well as 513 rebounds. He is a four-time All State Honoree and a two-time Eastern District Player Of The Year, and District 12 Player Of The Year.

He also has the school single-game record with 51 points and was the MVP in the OVAC Class-AA Championship game where the Pilots defeated Steubenville Catholic for a second OVAC Boys Basketball Title.

He is a four-time OVAC honoree, as well as a District First Team and District 12 First Team. He finished his illustrious senior season scoring 25.1 points per game, 6.1 assists per game and 6.3 rebounds per game. He also shot 46 percent from the floor as well as 82 percent from the foul line.

He will be playing in the Ohio North Game, OVAC Game, District 12 East/West Game and the BACF Game.

He has led the River Pilots to a 24-2 record this season, with a final AP Poll ranking of third (highest in school history), OVAC-AA Championship (first in 35 years), Sectional Championship and a District Finals berth.

He has also won Player of the Week in football, basketball and baseball, while helping the track team out when he wasn't playing baseball. He was First Team All-District in baseball, basketball and football, along with being the recipient of many awards and records being broken.

In football, he quarterbacked River to an undefeated season before losing in the playoffs. In baseball, he was a force on the mound as well as at the plate. And in track, he won numerous events, as well as helping the Pilots win some meets.

He will go down in history as one of the best multi-sports athletes of all time.

He is the son of Rick and Karly Isaly, as well as brother Kabel, and the grandson of Ronald and Maxine Isaly and the late Carl and Grace Grossenbacher.
