To The Editor,

Just a little food for thought.

The buffet sure looked good, but ugh, looks are deceiving.

I think a quote from Isaac Asimov might be appropriate to the start of this letter. "I can understand why children are afraid of the dark, but I cannot understand adults who are afraid of the light."

What does he mean when he says "afraid of the light?" I can think of more than one, but this one sticks out at me. Isn't knowledge the light that lets you see?

Yet we come home from work and turn on the television, closing our eyes to the real world around us. One favorite expression is: I dont want to get involved! Well, like it or not, you are involved. Just take five minutes from the ball game and ask yourself how much safer are you now with the Patriot Act than you were before it was enacted. Then ask yourself what freedoms did you give up. No government was ever meant to protect, only to control, and government knows that without the support of the churches and the free press, it is doomed to fail.

Our founding fathers knew this. That is why they meant for the church and state to be separate. But we let President Johnson incorporate the churches. So now the church must do the bidding of the government, even if it is goes against the beliefs of the church. (I just referred to Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible).

By the way, West Virginia has a law on the books that makes it illegal for the church, in the state of West Virginia, to incorporate. If any of the readers are interested you can find that law in the Constitution of West Virginia, Article VI 6-47. Well that is all for now. I have to throw another log on the fire. I could use a little of that global warming!
