Lady Wildcats Thrive On Senior Night

The Dirty Half Dozen - Paden City seniors Malayna Price, Kameron McClain, Katrinia Heasley, Jenna Ferrebee, Jenna Arnett and Aubrey Neff - celebrated their Senior Night in style, beating Wood County Christian and Hundred in straight sets on Oct. 20 inside the Bob Burton Gymnasium.

In the opener against Wood County, the OVAC Class 1A Champion Wildcats put the pedal to the metal and beat Wood County 25-8 and 25-11.

Leading the charge was freshman Mallory Yeater as she scored a game-high 19 points, while dishing out 11 assists, and making a kill. The Wildcats' other freshman, Hope Weber, slammed a game-high 16 kills, while making five blocks and scoring a point.

Seniors Aubrey Neff and Katrina Heasley shared 19 points, eight kills, five digs and seven assists, while seniors Kameron McClain posted a game-high 14 digs and scored three points, while fellow senior Jenna Ferrebee tacked on seven points and two kills. Seniors Jenna Arnett and Malayna Price made an assist, and eight digs and a point, respectively.

In the finale against Hundred on Senior Night, the Wildcats flourished in all aspects of the game, as Neff opened the opening set with 12 straight service points before the Lady Hornets broke serve, and went on to pound Hundred, 25-3.

In the second set, all six seniors played together on the floor one last time, without substitutions until Price slammed a kill to give the hosts a 17-5 lead and took them out one at a time to give their family and friends a chance to acknowledge each one.

Neff supplied the 'Cats with 16 points and seven assists, while Arnett had her best offensive game of the year and followed with 11 points, two aces, one dig and made one assist. McClain and Ferrebee each tallied six markers, while sharing six kills. In addition, Heasley made five kills, while Price made two digs and blasted her first kill of the year.

Off the bench, Yeater scored seven points, and dished out an assist, while Weber made a kill. Cora Anderson scored three points and a kill, while Abbe Stackpole served up an ace. Savannah Price closed things out for the Wildcats, scored three points.

For Hundred, Henderson tallied four points, two aces, two kills and made six digs, while A. Bragg tacked on three points and four digs to lead Hundred. Metz scored two points and two digs, while Horner and Fetty each tacked on a point, and made four digs. Matthews ended the Hundred stats with three digs.

Hundred would fall to Wood County, 25-7 and 25-14 earlier in the tri, with A. Bragg and Henderson leading the way with 11 points, two aces, three kills, one block and 15 digs, while the duo of Metz and Fetty collecting five points, one ace, three assists and six digs. Matthews and Horner equally shared three points, one ace and three digs, with S. Bragg chipping in with a dig.
