Wildcats Nip Lady Bulldogs In Four Sets

Jenna Ferrebee registered a solid game with 25 points, one ace, one dig, 16 kills and blocked four shots to help Paden City beat a very good Bridgeport team in four sets Sept. 19 inside the Bob Burton Gymnasium at PCHS.

The Lady Wildcats played inspired volleyball against Bridgeport, resulting in a 25-22 and 25-14 win in the first two sets, before falling 28-26 in overtime in the third set. But Paden City fought back to claim the victory, 25-21 to win the set and match.

Aubrey Neff filled the stat sheet with 11 points, eight digs and dished out 18 assists, while freshman Mallory Yeater provided 11 points, nine digs, 19 assists and made two kills, as well as her classmate Hope Weber, tallied 17 points, 16 kills, four blocks and one dig.

In addition, Katrina Heasley compiled 18 points, two service aces, 16 digs, two assists and had seven kills, while Jenna Arnett tallied six points, one dig, one assist and one kill. Kameron McClain added nine points and bumped up 10 digs, while Mayanna Price made 29 digs.

Paden City Lady Wildcats Sweeps Tri-Match

The defending Mason-Dixon champs and regular season OVAC Class Volleyball champs, the Paden City Wildcats, were in mid-season form Sept. 18, beating both the home team ,Clay-Battelle, and the Morgantown Trinity Warriors in straight sets.

In the first match, the Wildcats took total control against Trinity, winning by double-digits, 25-14 and 25-12, in both sets.

Paden City senior Aubrey Neff paced the Wildcats with 14 points, including a pair of service aces, two digs, two kills and dished out 12 assists, while freshman Mallory Yeater compiled nine point, including one ace, six kills and 10 assists. Freshman Hope Weber bombbarded the Warriors with four points, one ace and nine kills.

In addition, Malayna Price tallied 10 digs, while Katrina Heasley compiled six points, an ace and made two kills. Kameron McClain netted six markers, and made two digs.

In the next match, the Wildcats defeated the Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees, 25-21, in a close match, while taking it right to the Cee-Bees

in the second set, 25-10, paced by Heasley's 15 points and four service aces, three digs, and two kills.

Weber delivered 10 points, one dig, two blocks, and belted nine kills, while McClain and Jenna Ferrebee combined for 16 points and two service aces, with Ferrebee drilled nine kills, and McClain adding three digs. Price ended the Lady Wildcat statistics with eight digs.
