Several Indicted By Grand Jury

The May 2017 Wetzel County Grand Jury handed down several indictments after meeting behind closed doors Tuesday, May 9. Three indictments remain sealed.

Benjamin Dale Francis, 37, of 803 Ironton Street, New Martinsville, was given a three-count indictment, charging him with delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (heroin), possession of a controlled narcotic substance (heroin) with intent to deliver, and conspiracy to deliver a controlled narcotic substance (heroin).

These offenses allegedly occurred on or about July 30, 2016.

Glen Auldon Jordan, 33, of 300 Wells Street, New Martinsville, was handed down a two-count indictment by the grand jury.

Count one charges Jordan with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to deliver, while count two charges Jordan with conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

These offenses occurred on or about November 2, 2016.

Jamie Lee Jordan, 31, of 131 Dunlap Street, New Martinsville, was given one, one-count indictment, charging him with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to deliver, and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

These offenses allegedly occurred on or about November 2, 2016.

Nathan P. Koontz, 22, of P.O. Box 174, Littleton, received a two-count indictment, charging him with sexual abuse in the first degree and sexual assault in the second degree. The offenses allegedly occurred on or about May 3, 2015.

Melissa Lee Lowe, 43, of 5436 North Fork Road, Pine Grove, received two separate indictments, each containing two counts.

One indictment contained two counts - possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to deliver, and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (methamphetamine). These charges allegedly occurred on or about January 8, 2017.

Lowe's second indictment contained charges of entry of a building other than a dwelling, and grand larceny.

According to these charges, between December 28, 2016 and December 31, 2016, Lowe entered a garage with two other co-defendants and stole a 2014 Can Am Commander four seater and a 2013 Can Am Commander two seater.

David Glen Mansfield, 58, of 217 King Street, Troy, Tennessee, received an eight-count indictment, charging him with four counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, and four counts of sexual abuse by a custodian.

These offenses allegedly occurred on or about October 8, 2016.

Jeremiah Eugene Metz, 28, of 274-1/2 Wetzel Street, New Martinsville, received a one-count indictment, charging him with possession of a controlled substance (THC oil) with intent to deliver.

Tabitha Danielle Newlen, 30, of 403 Abbie Drive, New Martinsville, received a two-count indictment, charging her with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to deliver, and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

These offenses allegedly occurred on or about November 2, 2016.

Howard Ray Starkey, 29, of 5436 North Fork Road, Pine Grove, received three indictments from the grand jury.

One indictment contains two charges - possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to deliver, and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (methaphetamine).

These offenses are alleged to have occurred on or about January 8, 2017.

A separate, one-count indictment charges Starkey with grand larceny, alleging that he stole a Can Am Side by Side in December 2016.

Another, two-count indictment charges Starkey with entry of a building other than a dwelling, and grand larceny.

These offenses allegedly occurred between December 28, 2016 and December 31, 2016 when Starkey allegedly broke into a garage and stole a 2014 Can Am Comander four seater and a 2013 Can Am Commander two seater.
