To The Editor,
The Shortline's Lions Club has been making improvements to the Reader Park along Route 20, which we maintain. All improvements are made possible by fundraisers and donations. None of this would be possible without dedicated club members and volunteers from the community.
We want to thank those people and companies for their time and generosity.
Arlene Amos for the donations in memory of her late husband Floyd, also a past club member.
Thanks to Dominion Extraction Plant of Hastings for the several loads of pea gravel for the playground area and for pipe for a drainage ditch. Thanks to Tom Gump and Christine Mitchell, employees of Dominion, who we worked closely with to make this possible.
Brian Rush, who delivered the gravel.
Thanks to Apex for donations of plastic underlayment for the gravel.
To all the people who donated their time and equipment: Dale Bucher, Cricket, Josh Highley, David Morris, Ryan Bucher, Rick Bassett, Bill Hupp, Dan Henderson, Bud Mason. If we have omitted anyone, I apologize. Thank you all for your hard work.
Everything we do to make improvements to the park is done totally from fundraisers and donations.
We can always use new members.
Again, we thank you.
President Ruth Henderson
