New Martinsville Police Department Chief Tim Cecil has confirmed that Tori Dale Hinkle, 28, Matthew Lee Whittington, 21, and Mykal Lawrence Johnson, 28, were arrested Tuesday night and charged with possession of stolen property.
The trio was discovered with a Jeep that was reported stolen.
Chief Cecil said he stopped at Wal-Mart Tuesday night and happened to see Johnson walking away from the black Jeep Renegade.
Matthew Lee Whittington, Tori Dale Hinkle, and Mykal Lawrence Johnson have each been charged with possession of stolen property.
Cecil said he pulled his car in front of the Jeep, as to block it in. He said he then exited his vehicle and took off, on foot, after Johnson, apprehending him at the doors of Wal-Mart.
Sergeant Larsen and Patrolman Brad Mason both assisted at the scene, as well as Trooper Durrah, of the West Virginia State Police, and Sergeant Justin Smith of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Hinkle and Whittington were apprehended inside Wal-Mart.
According to Cecil, heroin was found inside the Jeep, and other charges are pending.
