Nick is also an honor student with a GPA of 3.875 and will further his education in the field of Political Science on the Mountaineer Campus.
Dave "Doc" Chapman, the Blue Eagles Head Football Coach, said, "Nick is very deserving. He works very hard at his craft and it's nice to see his hard work paying off."
"He was one of three Magnolia quarterbacks to have won a state championship and the only one to have a 14-0 record and a championship. He did everything our coaches asked of him. However, I can't be any happier for him and his family. The Mountaineers know what they are getting. He is a winner on and off the field."
Besides playing football, Priem is the starting catcher on the baseball team and a starter on the boys basketball team as well. He participates in many after school activities like working with the kids grasshopper basketball and Secret Santa. He has been a visitor at New Martinsville Healthcare Center where he has shared sports stories with many of the senior residents.
In addition, Priem was a prom greeter and was on the cleanup committee too. He has kept the clock at many of the girls basketball games and wrestling meets.
He helped teach football in the first Bill Stewart Memorial Youth Football Camp and has worked as a waiter at Captain Richards for athletic funding, as well as worked many a car wash or many different programs he participated in.
He was also a member of the Young Life group and has worked countless jobs, along with giving transportation for his legally blind grandmother.
Just some of Priem's accomplishments are: OVAC All Conference Academic Team, varsity letters in football, baseball and basketball. He was All-State in football as an honorable-mention his sophomore season. He was also featured on a WTOV 9 Electrifying Football Play Of The Week.
Priem has demonstrated good character by being respectful, attentive and reliable to his many friends and family.
He holds the office of Vice President of the Future Leader of Business and a National Honor Society Member and Principal List with a 4.0. He has outstanding honors in Math, English, History Biology, as well as perfect attendance.
He is the son of Ed and Christie Priem of New Martinsville, and the grandson of Barbara Watkins of New Martinsville and the late Jack Watkins. He also has a sister, Lexi of New Martinsville and grandparents, Jim and Doreen Priem of Roseville, Minnesota.
