There might be some lingering ballots left to be counted - or recounted - but we can probably safely say that the 2016 general election is now behind us. For those looking for the election results, be sure to visit our website at www.wetzelchronicle.com.
As we noted on our front page, our paper goes to press on Tuesday afternoons, which means we are unable to publish the election results in this week's Chronicle.
However, we guarantee you can find the results on our website. We will publish the results in our Nov. 16 edition and also publish the precinct-by-precinct results in an upcoming issue, when able.
May we also suggest something else?
While you are lamenting, or celebrating, over the results of the general election... take the time to thank a veteran.
Veterans Day is Friday, November 11th. And truly, every day, we should be grateful for those whose blood, sweat, and tears ensured that we could have the honor and privilege to vote, to have an Election Day and to let our voices be heard.
So let us allow our voices to be heard once more, this time in gratitude...
Thank you to those willing to give all.
