Wetzel Board Of Education Approves Personnel Matters

The Wetzel County Board of Education approved several personnel matters during their Jan. 3 and Jan. 17 regular meetings. The following resignations, changes in assignment, and employment of county educators and staff are detailed alphabetically by school. Positions take effect immediately, unless otherwise noted.

Magnolia High School

Brian J. Croasmun's request for resignation from his position as Head Boys' Soccer Coach at MHS was accepted.

Jay D. Smith was approved for employment as Assistant Wrestling Coach at MHS, effective the beginning of the 2011-2012 WVSSAC Season. This is not a county- or school-funded position.

New Martinsville School

David C. Brill (non-certified) was approved for employment as Assistant Seventh/Eighth Grade Football Coach at NMS, effective the beginning of the 2012-2013 WVSSAC Season. This is not a county- or school-funded position.

Bryan E. Hostetler (non-certified) was approved for employment as Head Seventh/Eighth Grade Football Coach at NMS, effective the beginning of the 2012-2013 WVSSAC Season.

Theresa A. Hostetler (non-certified) was approved for employment as Athletic Trainer at NMS, effective the beginning of the 2012-2013 WVSSAC Season.

Harold Allen Trader was approved for employment as Custodian II/Painter (682-B/635-E) 261-day contract, 3-11 p.m. shift at NMS, effective Jan. 18.

Paden City High School

Jessica L. Dotson's request for resignation from her position as Assistant Girls' Softball Coach at PCHS, effective Dec. 28, 2011, at the end of the day, was accepted.

Carmen K. Shepherd's request for an unpaid medical leave of absence from her position as Secretary at PCHS under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) beginning Jan. 10, 2012, through Feb. 21, 2012, was approved.

Toby L. Willis was approved for a contracted services position as Extended Day Tutor (Policy 2512) at PCHS, effective Jan. 18.

Short Line School

Velisha I. Shepherd's request for resignation from her position as Seventh/Eighth Grade Girls' Track Coach at SLS, was accepted.

Vickey L. Titus was approved for a change in assignment from Half-time cook III (677-C) at SLS and Half-time Substitute Cook to Cook III (677-C) at SLS, effective Jan. 18.

Wetzel County Center for Children and Families

Ashley Greene's request for a maternity leave from her position as Early Start Teacher at WCCCF, beginning Jan. 3 and upon the depletion of her personal leave days will begin an unpaid leave of absence under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), beginning Feb. 2 through March 5, was approved.

Countywide

Tricia J. Chute was approved for employment as Countywide ESL/Spanish Teacher based at NMS and PCHS, effective Jan. 18, pending WVDE certification.

Roger D. Heater II was approved for employment as Countywide Substitute Custodian, effective Jan. 4.

Kimberly A. Myers' request for resignation from her position as Countywide Substitute Custodian, was accepted.

Susanna Villers was approved as a countywide chaperone and/or volunteer for the 2011-2012 school year.
