FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. (AP) — A woman in West Virginia was sentenced 15 years in prison for driving under the influence of drugs and killing a married couple.

The Register-Herald reports ( Judge John Hatcher Jr. sentenced 23-year-old Sarena Fox on Monday.

On June 18, 2015, Fox was driving a pickup truck on West Virginia Route 16 near Glen Jean. Police say she crossed the center line and struck an SUV, causing it to spin sideways and into the path of another vehicle.

The SUV's driver, 68-year-old Eric Robertson, and his 65-year-old wife Joyce both died in the crash.

Fox was found to have been driving under the influence of drugs.

While Fox's attorney says her client has changed, Hatcher says Fox still has a substance abuse problem and looked like, "death eating a cracker."
