The raid and subsequent arrests of illegal aliens that took place in New Martinsville April 16 came as a surprise and shock to many, while others were heard saying, “I always figured they weren’t citizens.”

When News Hits Home
It has been a little over five years since the war in Iraq began. Reports of the events in the Middle East are part of the news on a daily basis. Those stories are meant to inform the public of the events in that area. However, what happens too often is that repetition can result in familiarity in a way that makes readers, viewers, or listeners essentially tune out the news as “just another report on the war”.
